Who

Jarmo Kiuru (b. 1985) is a Finnish cinematographer. Drawn to cinema from an early age he then studied cinematography at Aalto University Department of Film, Television and Scenography. Now for over ten years he has worked on fiction and documentary features, television series and short films, music videos and commercials.

Jarmo is a two-time Jussi nominee for best cinematography (“Girl picture” 2022, “There will be spring” 2020) and FSC Cinematographer of the year 2022.

His works have been awarded in Sundance (“Girl Picture”, “The Date” 2013), Berlinale (“The Date”) and Canneseries (“Mister8” 2021). His films have also competed in Cannes and Toronto (“All Inclusive” 2019) among other major film festivals.

He is a board member of Finnish society of cinematographers FSC, acting as a secretary and running the social media crew.
